Thanks to the following counties that specifically authorized Geospatial Services to share their GIS tax parcel data with the public: Albany, Cayuga, Chautauqua, Cortland, Erie, Genesee, Greene, Hamilton, Lewis, Montgomery, NYC- Bronx, NYC- Kings (Brooklyn), NYC- New York (Manhattan), NYC- Queens, NYC- Richmond (Staten Island), Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Orange, Oswego, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Schuyler, St Lawrence, Steuben, Sullivan, Tioga, Tompkins, Ulster, Warren, and Westchester. New York City data comes from NYC MapPluto which can be found here. Detailed information about assessment attributes can be found in the ORPTS Assessor’s Manuals available here. County attribute values were populated using 2022 Assessment Roll tabular data Geospatial Services obtained from the NYS Department of Tax and Finance’s Office of Real Property Tax Services (ORPTS).Tabular assessment data was joined to the county provided parcel geometry using the SWIS & SBL or SWIS & PRINT KEY unique identifier for each parcel. No attempt was made to edge-match parcels along adjacent counties. Parcel geometry was incorporated as received from County Real Property Departments. Geospatial Services' goal is to eventually include parcel data for all counties in New York State. Parcel data for counties which do not allow Geospatial Services to redistribute their data must be obtained directly from those counties. To date, 32 counties have provided Geospatial Services permission to share their parcel data with the public. Work to obtain parcel data from additional counties, as well as permission to share the data, is ongoing. The NYS_Tax_Parcels_Public layer contains 2022 parcel data only for NY State counties which gave NYS ITS Geospatial Services permission to share this data with the public. Tax parcel polygons display when zoomed in below 1:37,051-scale. County footprint polygons display when zoomed out beyond 1:37,050-scale. This map service has two layers: 1) NYS_Tax_Parcels_Public, and 2) NYS_Tax_Parcels_Public_Footprint which contains polygons representing counties for which tax parcel polygons are available in the NYS_Tax_Parcels_Public layer. The county tax maps are updated each year, reflecting the divisions, subdivisions and consolidations of property processed annually by the Clerk's Office in conjunction with the Cook County Assessor's Office. The Clerk’s Map Department maintains records of taxing district boundaries which are the basis for property tax calculations. The tax maps show the boundaries of each parcel and identify the unit numbers within each condo development. The Clerk’s Map Department draws the official tax maps for Cook County, using the legal description of properties to establish the Property Index Number (PIN) for each parcel for tax purposes. “The Tax Map Viewer aligns with our strategic goals of promoting transparency and accessibility in government services." Users can now view unofficial copies of tax maps online and free of charge dating back to 2019. The new Tax Map Viewer app was developed in partnership between the Cook County Clerk’s Office and the Cook County Bureau of Technology to enhance access to current tax maps which are typically requested for property tax purposes. Cook County officials are unveiling a new interactive application that will provide the public with free viewing access to the county’s tax maps and allow users to search for a Property Index Number (PIN) or address to search maps with a user-friendly interface.
